ENDORSEMENTS
I am delighted to endorse Danielle Carter for Mayor of Mount Rainier!
Danielle is a “can-do” leader who is committed to building a better, stronger, and more inclusive city. She has a proven track record of doing the hard work it takes to address the “big picture issues” that sustain our city as a whole while taking action on the things that improve our quality of life in practical, meaningful ways.
Danielle can always be seen around town, building community and responding to concerns. She cares deeply about our city and the folks who live here. She focuses on issues, large and small, that directly improve my life in meaningful ways.
Please join me in supporting Danielle Carter for our next Mayor.
Jan Baird-Adams - Ward 1
(Long-time Mount Rainier resident)
"Danielle Carter has always responded to my questions and concerns in a timely manner."
Devon Brown - Ward 1
I am voting for Danielle Carter for Mayor of Mt. Rainier!
She is ready to put the work in, get her hands dirty and continue/expand on the great work already being done in wonderful Mt Rainier. I am really impressed with her work on Snow Angels and working on getting a lawn care system in place for folks that need it in our community.
Making public safety a priority, she isn’t afraid to walk the circle area and see for herself what is going on when local business ask for help. She holds regular in person meetings for her Ward 1 residents and welcomes me a Ward 2 resident and other Ward 2 residents.
I believe that she has what it takes to be our next mayor!
Megan Owen - Ward 2
I have lived in Mount Rainier for 20 years. I moved here because I saw this city as being proactive and forward leaning, and I wanted to be a part of that. By far, the most active and proactive official that I have experienced in my time here has been Danielle Carter. She is the one person that I have seen make a point to put herself out there to hold events and commune with people, arranging meetings and community outreach events, both to inform regarding what is going on in our city and our state, as well as to solicit feedback and input from the people in our City.
She did this on the CERT, and she did this as chair of the recreation committee. As a city council member, she has done this by holding quarterly community meetings, whereby she raises and addresses issues that have come to her attention because of her constituents’ concerns. She prepares for these, including by doing the research and reaching out to the people that need to be contacted to provide answers, and follows up when warranted. I have also seen it in the way that she has advocated for events that make our community a more pleasant place to live, such as the December festival of lights and cider stations.
I experienced this diligence by Danielle most of all when over the last year, we learned that our career firefighters were removed from our local station, and I became involved with that issue. Danielle has served as a medical first responder for the county, and not only was knowledgeable, but was willing and demonstrated that she could ably put that knowledge to good use to advocate for our firefighters to be returned. When the County Council had a meeting by public demand to address the outrage of the northern county communities that they had just disserviced, Danielle was the only Mount Rainier elected official to come to that meeting – and she was the first elected official to speak at that meeting.
Moreover, I have encountered this as a Ward 2 resident. That’s right, I could not even vote for her for City Council because she is not in my ward. Yet I have seen her respond and address questions and concerns from Ward 2 residents just the same as Ward 1. This is another reason why I think she would make an excellent mayor for the entire city. Because she has already demonstrated that she cares about, and considers herself, a servant of the entire city, here for YOU, regardless of where you live in the city or what your background is, that brought you here. This is why I am choosing Danielle Carter for Mayor.
